Now I understand that checking analytics and integrating demographics in personas is kinda the lazy way: also they won’t help you understand the motivations of your users and empathize with their problems.

Actually, I was more using Experience map and Empathy map to describe user’s pains or goals, but it makes sense to get behaviours and motivations already at the stage of Personas.
